We’re very passionate about creating confident smiles at Mack Orthodontics—but that’s not where our commitment stops. As a locally-owned family practice, we constantly strive to give back to our Burlington community. We believe it’s our duty to support our local families, encourage healthy lifestyles, and lift up our neighbors in need.
When you support Mack Orthodontics, you’re actively supporting:
- Food access for families in need
- Local schools and students
- Health and wellness initiatives
- Children undergoing cancer treatment and their families
- Global efforts to end hunger
Supporting Our Local Schools
Strong schools foster strong communities, which is why we prioritize students and staff in our Burlington-area schools. One of our most impactful partnerships is with Newlin Elementary School, where we sponsor backpacks full of food to help nurture families struggling with food insecurity. We love these weekend backpack programs for the peace of mind they provide to families who might otherwise go without.
Our team also loves to uplift and support local school sports teams at Williams High School, and previously, Western Alamance High School. Our goal is to develop youth on and off of the field or court, because Dr. Mack believes confidence stems from opportunity.

Giving Back Through Events and Fundraisers
Mack Orthodontics is always looking for new events to contribute to, especially when they benefit local families and promote healthier living! A few of our recent community involvement efforts include:
Peanut Butter Jelly 5K
We were thrilled to sponsor the Peanut Butter Jelly 5K, an event that raised funds for the S.A.F.E. Food Pantry. Supporting families facing hunger is a cause close to our hearts, and we’re proud to have contributed to such a fun and impactful event.
Hurricane Florence Relief
Though not specific to Burlington, we want to highlight one of our proudest moments of giving back. Through umbrella sales, we raised over $2,000 to support recovery efforts in Western North Carolina after Hurricane Florence. It was a team-wide effort that united our office and patients around a shared purpose.
Volunteering with Feed the Hunger
While we do love fundraising, we also love to get hands-on and volunteer with organizations in our off-time. We regularly volunteer with Feed the Hunger to pack meals for families in need all over the world. Established in 1968, this organization partners with local pastors and church planters to provide essential resources such as nutritious meals, clean water, emergency aid, and educational materials. This project reminds us that even small actions can have a global impact, so we’re grateful to get to contribute our time and energy to a cause that changes lives.
Just TRYAN It: Supporting Families Fighting Cancer
Mack Orthodontics is also a proud supporter of Just TRYAN It, a local organization that provides financial assistance to families with children undergoing cancer treatment at our local Duke or UNC hospitals. These grants help families cover non-treatment costs like housing, travel, and lost income. For parents facing unimaginable challenges, this support can be a lifeline. This organization makes such a tangible impact on our region through community engagement and youth-focused events, and we feel very lucky to be their neighbors and supporters.
Promoting Healthy, Active Lifestyles
Our Dr. Mack is an amazing triathlete—so it’s only natural that he cares deeply about helping kids get a move on! To help instill the value of physical fitness early in life, we sponsor 5Ks, half-marathons, and other community races. These events are far-reaching in their effects, bringing people together, promoting wellness, and giving people of all ages the opportunity to challenge themselves in a fun environment.
We believe that movement is a fundamental form of self-care, which is why we hold these types of events so close to our hearts.
Want to Get Involved?
We know that there are always new opportunities and worthy causes arising that need support, and we’d love to hear about any that you have in mind. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us about support opportunities if you’re a current patient or even new to our office!

More Than Smiles
Generally speaking, people don’t expect much more from orthodontists than a means of building a better smile. The truth is, some outstanding practices just begin with orthodontic treatment—their influence becomes equally evident outside of the smile category. We want to encourage patients that our office is a place they’ll feel supported by, even when they aren’t physically there for an appointment.
Serving our community is a highlight of our job, and so is serving you and your family. If you’ve been pondering orthodontic treatment, we’d love to see you for a free consultation in Burlington or Hillsboro.
