He believes in lifelong learning. He takes part in continuing education so I can apply the most recent developments in orthodontics.
Dr. Jackson's journey to orthodontics hasn't been straightforward; she studied mechanical engineering at MIT (with a minor in jazz trumpet!), then put her poker hobby to good use as a bond trader on Wall Street for five years. As she missed working with her hands, she decided to follow in her orthodontist father and twin brother's footsteps and become an orthodontist. She graduated summa cum laude from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and completed her orthodontics residency at the University of North Carolina.
Regular adjustments with our doctors will help the parts of your braces work together to apply pressure to your teeth gently. This pressure will gradually move your teeth into the desired position. Traditional braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. The metal or ceramic brackets connected to wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics are attached to your teeth.
Whether you have simple or complex teeth issues, Hillsborough braces are a splendid choice to get a correction that looks great. Hillsborough braces are also a cost-effective option for patients on a budget. Because they sometimes work faster at closing gaps and aligning teeth than other options might, overall treatment time can be slightly reduced. As an added benefit, braces don’t need some more complicated technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can.
The Hillsborough Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually move the teeth into alignment instead of brackets and bands. This option is incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists and is currently the top alternative to traditional braces.
Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and designed to fit snugly over the patient’s teeth. The trays are virtually invisible and are usually switched out every 1-2 weeks for the next series. This keeps the teeth moving in the right direction! If you don’t wear your aligners as directed, you may see unwanted results such as slower treatment or a lack of results altogether. You must wear aligners 20-22 hours per day throughout therapy for them to do their job.
Invisalign is most effective when used to correct many of the most common orthodontic issues and may not be the best option for patients with incredibly complex cases. A free consultation with Mack Orthodontics will help determine your eligibility for Invisalign.
